Iran’s Persepolis have been training to host Qatar’s Al-Sadd, at Azadi stadium, in the 2nd leg of the AFC Champions League semifinals.
This is the 2nd year in a row that the Red Army have reached the semis in the Western part of Asia, as they look to defend the 1-0 advantage in Tehran on Tuesday.
Persepolis had become the 1st team to beat Al Sadd at home in 2018, after weathering an avalanche of Qatari attacks for 85 minutes, and then hitting on the counter, when Ali Alipour converted from the spot.
The Qatari side face a difficult task to come away with a result from Tehran, but they are all too familiar with how to make it happen, as they have defeated Esteghlal 3-1 in Tehran, in the 1st leg of their quarterfinal match-up.
